Mr Iacovou, a Consultant Urologist in Wiltshire, qualified at Nottingham University in 1980.
Mr Iacovou spent a number of years training in general surgery before entering specialist training in urology, gaining wide ranging experience in the major NHS teaching hospitals of Bristol, Nottingham and Derby.
He was appointed to the post of Consultant Urologist in Swindon in 1992, founding the Department of Urology at The Ridgeway Hospital and the Great Western Hospital. The department has developed and expanded to offer a comprehensive urological service treating a complete spectrum of patients.
Clinical interests
- The treatment of prostate disease - the development of the Greenlight Laser has made the surgical treatment of the enlarged prostate a much less invasive and safer operation – drastically reducing hospital stay, recovery time and complication rates.

The treatment of female and male incontinence - in most cases major surgery is no longer a requirement for the treatment of urinary incontinence.
