Specialist training
Ford Qureshi underwent Specialist Fellowship Training in Shoulder & Elbow Surgery at the Northern General Hospital in Sheffield where he gained expert training in complex shoulder & elbow conditions.
He has also been the National British Elbow and Shoulder Society (BESS) Travelling Fellow, an award which allowed him to visit a number of shoulder & elbow surgeons within North America, including The Mayo Clinic, Rush Presbyterian (Chicago) and Massachusetts General (Boston). Here he experienced the current surgical concepts of arthroscopic 'keyhole' and joint replacement surgery for conditions affecting the upper limb.
Clinical interests
Mr Qureshi has developed his interest in arthroscopic 'keyhole' techniques for both the shoulder and elbow joint, as these techniques provide a better cosmetic appearance, faster rehabilitation with an earlier return to work, and are also performed as day case (same day) procedures. He performs reconstructive surgery for arthritic shoulder conditions with surface, total and reverse shoulder joint replacements.
He has published his research in a number of medical journals and presented his work at orthopaedic conferences held both nationally and internationally.
