An inflammatory condition affecting the eye lid edges. It is common and cannot usually be completed cured by a single course of treatment. However, this condition can be managed so that there is minimal discomfort and irritation.

Cataract surgery

Within the eye there is a lens. This is normally transparent like window glass. When it becomes hazy like bathroom window glass, it is called a cataract. When the vision is affected to such an extent that normal daily activities are difficult, then surgery should be considered. It is no longer necessary to wait for the cataract to become ripe or for all vision to be lost before undertaking the cataract operation.

Squint / strabismus

When we look at things that are close to us, two things must happen. We focus on the object to see it clearly, and our eyes converge or turn inwards so that they both point exactly at the object we wish to see. These two things, focussing and convergence are controlled by the brain in a very tightly linked fashion, making it difficult or impossible to do one without also doing the other.
