James Casha : Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon, Kent

Specialist in spinal surgery, hip and knee replacement and arthroscopic surgery.

Mr Casha, a consultant orthopaedic surgeon in Kent, qualified in Malta in 1986. His basic surgical training was in Malta and Dundee. He obtained his FRCS in Edinburgh in 1990.

He then was an Orthopaedic Registrar in Glasgow and Visiting Senior Registrar in Dundee. Mr Casha obtained his FRCS Orth in 1994 as well as an MChOrth from the University of Dundee. Following that, he then was an AO Spine and Trauma Fellow in Bochum in 1995 and a Spine and Joint Reconstruction Fellow in Toronto from 1995 to 1996.

From 1996 to 1999 he worked in Malta in an NHS and private practice as well as a part time Anatomy and Surgical Lecturer at the University of Malta.

He was appointed to East Kent in 1999 and is an active teacher especially ATLS (Advanced Trauma Life Support), fracture treatment and spinal surgery. Mr Casha was awarded a Fellowship ad eundem from the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 2000. His NHS practice extends from Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother Hospital , Margate to Kent and Canterbury Hospital and Deal Hospital.

In 2010 he was appointed as Honorary Senior Lecturer (Teaching) at Kings College Medical School, London.

He practices privately at The Spencer Wing, Margate; the Chaucer Hospital, Canterbury and St Saviours Hospital, Hythe.
