Mr Wale Olarinde, MB BS, FRCS (Oto), FRCS (ORL-HNS), came to Sheffield to train in ENT/Head & Neck Surgery after completing his basic surgical training in the West Midlands and Greater London. He became a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 1999.

Mr Olarinde trained in all aspects of ear, nose and throat surgery including head and neck surgery at The Royal Hallamshire Hospital Sheffield, Sheffield Children’s Hospital, Doncaster Royal Infirmary & Rotherham General Hospital. He received further subspecialist training in head and neck cancer surgery at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital in Sheffield. He was a visiting fellow at Kiel University Teaching Hospital in Germany where he received training in the resection of throat cancers with lasers.
 
Mr Olarinde has attended (and continues to attend) conferences and meetings to keep up to date with evidence based treatments for his patients. His practice philosophy is to provide an individualised treatment plan for each patient.

Mr Olarinde has a keen interest in the conservative excision of tumours, training medical students and prevention of head and neck cancers.  His NHS practice is based at the Chesterfield Royal Hospital and he is a core member of the head and neck cancer multidisciplinary team that discuss the treatment of all patients with head and neck cancers in the North Trent cancer network.
