How the Impotence Association can help you

Surgery Door provides a section for people suffering from impotence and other related men's health conditions.

The aim of the Impotence Association is to raise awareness of the incidence of impotence and its causes; provide up to date medical information on impotence and to educate the public on the causes and treatment of impotence.

The Impotence Association is a registered Charity and the UK's only patient support group for impotence. We provide information and support via a telephone Helpline for sufferers, their partners and Healthcare professionals.

On request, callers can be put in touch with specialists in their area, with whom they can discuss the appropriate treatment. Due to great demand the Association has been dealing with Female Sexual Dysfunction since September 1999.

We have produced a number of patient Factsheets which are available free of charge including:

  • 'Impotence Explained - A couple's guide to erectile dysfunction'
  • 'Would a woman recognise the signs'
  • Peyronie's Disease
  • Delayed ejaculation
  • Premature ejaculation
  • Sexual difficulties in gay men
  • Waterworks - prostate problems
  • Female Sexual Dysfunction

Often people feel unable to discuss their condition with their family doctor and some even find that their doctor is not interested in helping them. The Association has received calls from over 56,000 sufferers and their partners since it's launch in July 1995 - many of whom are now receiving appropriate treatment. We have over 1,200 members/subscribers - "Friends of the Association" who receive up to date information on impotence and regular copies of the Association newsletter.

The Helpline 020 8767 7791 is open weekdays between 9am and 5pm. Outside these hours an answering machine is in operation and callers are invited to leave their name and telephone number and their call is returned by a trained member of the Association. Alternatively information can be received by sending a stamped addressed envelope to the Impotence Association, PO Box 10296, London SW17 9WH.

All inquiries are handled in complete confidence.
