What BackCare can do to help you

 Individual Membership

BackCare is an independent charity which is working for reduce the impact that back pain has on our lives. 
  • We offer practical and emotional support for people who endure chronic pain 
  • We run a specialist telephone helpline staffed by qualified nurses offering impartial information and support 
  • We run branches across the country to encourage self-help and offer a range of activities. Many organise hydrotherapy and exercise classes and loan equipment for you to try out at home. There are meetings to share ideas and tips and many hold talks given by leading specialists 
  • We actively work with schools, health authorities and companies to prevent back injuries 
  • We fund patient-oriented research into the causes and treatment of back pain   

 

Individual membership costs only £17.50 a year (£10.00 if you are solely dependant on state benefits). There is also a family membership at £24.00 and (£12.00 for concessions) and overseas membership at £25.00. Membership entitles you to: 

  • Access to your local branch of BackCare
  • Access to the BackCare helpline
  • Access to the BackCare Clinical Negligence helpline
  • Discounted rates at many osteopaths, chiropractors and private physiotherapists nationwide 
  • Our magazine Talkback, which is published four times a year which, together with its Professional Supplement, keeps you up-to-date on a range of back care issues including treatments, products and research 
  • A wide range of exclusive membership offers 
  • Full voting rights at the Annual General Meeting
